Who are you?
I am originally from Turin, where EiE film, my production company, is still based. I have a classic commuter's life, dividing my time between Levico (where my partner lives) and Turin, roughly one week here and one week in Piedmont.
What are you involved in?
I started working in audiovisual production by chance. In 2008, a dear journalist friend was looking for a researcher for a documentary project about the 1970s in Turin. I was coming from a background in Ancient Humanities, and I had a certain familiarity - not to say pedantry - with archives and writing. In short order, they liked the project and it became our first documentary, "Anni Spietati," from which a series for Rai 3 was born and also a book for Laterza. For 8 years I was a documentary writer mainly dealing with historical and literary content, until in 2015 together with two partners I had the opportunity to acquire a historical company in Turin, EiE film. Since then I have increasingly switched to being a producer, keeping an eye on the authorial side of our projects.
What was your dream job as a child? Is what you are doing what you always wanted to do?
I don't remember clearly what I wanted to do as a child. Until I was 15, I played in Juve's youth team, so I suppose I cherished the dream of being a soccer player. One thing that always connoted me was a curiosity for the world of literary, historical, linguistic, musical, political knowledge. Let's say that in its most interesting aspects, my work as a producer allows me to continue to deal with it. However much of the time is spent, alas, trying to make ends meet.
